futsal
The BSC Futsal Program has been operating since the fall of 2015 and each year we have seen a tremendous improvement in the skills of our players who participate in the program.
We offer a weekly Futsal Program during the indoor season for our development and competitive players typically from November-April. Futsal is played with a smaller, harder, low-bounce ball than soccer. The program is structured in that games are free play with no coaching interventions. This approach is based on research that has shown that futsal creates an environment where players learn self-exploration, learn how to become independent thinkers and problem solvers, which benefits them in developing their soccer skills. Much of the learning is enabled through modelling and repetition.
Benefits of Futsal include:
Improves player decision making skills
Improves game awareness
Provides players with more touches on the ball
With limited space, constant opponent pressure, improved ball control technique and skills are required
Develops the confidence in players to go 1v1 against their opponent
Allows players to be creative in getting around their opposition
Improves reaction time as well as helps with agility, balance and coordination.
Players learn to play and think fast as space and time is limited
Players enjoy the challenge of playing a fast paced, fun, skill-oriented game that tests your abilities whilst developing all round individual technique
Playing against older players and players with different physical characteristics forces players to solve different problems
